Amos Newhall was baptized, Aug. 24, 1773 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Mass. in the Trinity Church.
He married Veturia Montague, Oct. 21, 1811 in Essex Co., Va. She was the daughter of John and Catherine (Yates) Montague.
Amos Newhall first appears on the Essex County Tax records in 1810 and was listed as a Doctor in 1813. On the 1814 Tax record it indicates that he owned 361 acres of land, 18 miles South East of the "Court House."
