Calliope "Cally" Coutros
AGE: 86 • Edison
Calliope "Cally" Coutros, 86, of Edison, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Heritage at Clara Barton, Edison. Cally was born in Perth Amboy, to Peter and Stella Coutros on November 1, 1927. She was raised in Perth Amboy until 1996 and later moved to Edison. She was employed by National Lead, Sayreville for 29 years and later worked at JFK Medical Center, Edison as an Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Development for 11 years where she retired. Cally was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Perth Amboy, where she was active with the choir, as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the St. Demetrios Philoptochos Society & the Senior's Club.
She is preceded in death by her devoted parents, Peter and Stella (nee Kostakos) and dear sister-in-law of Helen Coutros. She is survived by her beloved sister, Mary and her husband George Karagias and brother, Spero Coutros; loving aunt of Stella, Peter Coutros, Peggy Kantor, Helena Soriano, Louis and George Karagias. 
We begin to leave on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 10 am from Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral service at 11 am at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Burial is at Alpine Cemetery. Visiting is on Thursday from 5 ~ 8 pm. A Trisagion service will be at 7:30 pm. Donations in the memory of Cally can be made to the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 41 ~ 47 Wisteria Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
