Spero Coutros
AGE: 89 • Perth Amboy
Spero Coutros, 89 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Spero was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy. He was an Alumnus of Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1944. Spero served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was the Owner ~ Operator of Coutros Brothers, Inc., Perth Amboy for many years. He was a parishioner, a member of Seniors Club, AHEPA, past member and past Treasurer of the Board of Trustee's at St. Demetrois Greek Orthodox Church, a past member of the Perth Amboy Chamber of Commerce and member of the Vryseon Society.
He is preceded in death by his devoted wife Helen ( nee Grivas ) who passed away in 2008; loving son of Peter and Stella ( nee Kostakos ); dear brother of Calliope "Cally" Coutros, who passed away 2014. He is survived by his beloved children Stella Coutros, Peggy and her husband William Kantor and Peter Coutros; dear brother of Mary and her husband George Karagias; adored grandfather of Nicholas, Gregory Hoffmann, Jennifer, Victoria, Kristin Kantor, Peter, Landon and Tyler Coutros; cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
We begin to leave on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 9:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral service at 10 am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthdox Church, Perth Amboy. Interment will be at Alpine Cemetery. Visiting is on Tuesday from 4 ~ 8 pm with a Trisagion Service at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Spero, can be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 41 ~ 47 Wisteria Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
