Obituary from book at Exeter Library, has this with handwritten date of 18 Sep 1970: "VISALIA - Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the United Methodist Church of Visalia for Perry Swanson, 75, of Visalia, who died yesterday in a Dinuba hospital. Burial will be in the Visalia Cemetery.
A native of the Deep Creek area, east of Visalia, Swanson attended Visalia schools and farmed in this area until he retired in 1964. He divided his time between his Visalia home and Kings Canyon National Park. He was a member of the Visalia United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his widow, Bessie; a son, Leonard Swanson, whose whereabouts is unknown; two daughters, Mrs. Marian Crandell of Dinuba and Betty Swanson of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Mamie Clark of Laguna Beach, and three grand-children.
The family requests that any remembrances be sent to the Donna Jean Crandell Memorial Scholarship Fund at Kingsburg High School. The Hadley Chapel is in charge of arrangements."
