John Joseph Cook

(28 May 1809 - 12 Apr 1880)

He was a farmer and the first surveyor in Blackford Co., IN, the second clerk of the court and postmaster. He purchased a tract of 240 acres of land located in section 23, twp. 23, north; range 10 east, certificate no. 7975, of Blackford Co., IN. He served as postmaster of Hartford City, Feb. 12, 1840 to March 18, 1842. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
