Enrolled as private in the 21st Ohio Independent Battery, Light Artillery on Feb. 28,l 1863 and mustered into service for a term of 3 years. He was 18 at time of enrollment. He was wounded at Walker's Ford, 2 Dec. 1863, near Knoxville TN.
He later moved to Santa Clara Co., CA - Los Gatos, 1888.
He was a guard of Vallandigham from Cincinnati to Louisville, KY. [probably in 1863].
