Individual Details
Capt. Isaac Webb Jr.
(19 Jan 1758 - 26 Jun 1833)
Isaac Webb and his wife probably emigrated from Virginia to Kentucky in 1792, farmer.
He inherited from his sister, Winifred, "my negro man Rawley, the blacksmith,my negro man David, the cooper, and my negro man Turner and Jerry"
Winifred Webb's will Aug. 27, 1823.
"I also knew Cousin Lucy's grandfather, Isaac Webb. He was a very small man, of an active figure. I first saw him, at their house near Lexington, KY, about 12 miles, I think, east of Lexington, about 1825"
Josiah W. Ware Recollections, RBH Diary, III, pg. 581-2
"Mrs. M. E. McFarland says: "My grandfather Isaac Webb was a Captain in the Continental Army and I have been told located in this state (KY) upon a military grant...We have good reason to believe that the Webbs and Wares came to Kentucky from Frederick County, Virginia, in the year 1792. About that time there was considerable emigration of Virginians to Kentucky. Mrs. Nancy Innis, the oldest living representation of the family in this part of the State tells me that she often heard her mother, Mrs. Charles Webb, say that her oldest child, born Dec. 1791, was but three months old when they came to Kentucky. They descended the Ohio in flat boats in momentary apprehension of being attacked by the Indians."

"He enlisted in the Revolutionary Army at the age of 17, served to its close, attained the rank of Captain, and received land from VA.."Lt. Isaac Webb, of the Continental Line, received Jan. 13, 1784, 2666 2/3rds acres for three years service", also an annual pension of $320.00 from May 31, 1833 until his death". He resigned in 1780, after Gates' defeat, having served 3 years and more. Gen. Clinton, by proclamation, offered to reinstate any resigned officer who would repair to headquarters and report. Lt. Webb at once returned and was made Captain. He marched to the South with 120 men and never resigned afterwards. (Thos. Green of D.C.)"
