Mildred was a Christian woman, she and her husband having raised two sons. Many summers were spent with Aunt Millie and Uncle Ben. They were the happiest times of my life, and will never be forgotten. She suffered a stroke, several years before her death, which left her an invalid, unable to walk, speak, or care for herself. Uncle Ben devoted himself to caring for her, until her death, four days after her sister Frances's suicide, in 1987.
