Susannah Tressler

Susannah Tressler (Sept. 20, 1820-Apr, 1858) married Ellas H. Brown.
Sept. 5 , 1840. Ellas was a shoemaker and
farmer. He owned 160 acres of land extending
to the S.E. corner of the village
of West'Jefferson, Williams Co., 0. After
the death of his wife he married Mrs. ____
Snyder who had two daughters Amanda and
Diana. The former married Elias' oldest
son, Thomas C.: the latter lived for several
years with Joseph Tressler (I829-I903)
Elias' brother-in-law, whose home was nearly
opposite across the highway from the Brown
house. The second wife and Elias separated.
Of his first marriage there were ten
children. Four of them (Dellah, Zacharlas
Taylor. Andrew Jackson. and Isabella
Rebecca) died of black diphtheria within a
short time of each other, probably in the
year 1862. The other six children were
Thomas, Sanders. Bradley, Scott. Charles,
and George. The record of this family is
Incomplete.
