Benjamin Landis Senior

Benjamin Landis, Sr. came to America in 1717 with his parents, Hans Landis and Anna Witmer. Benjamin Landis, and his brothers Felix and John, bought land in Chester County, now Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Benjamin Landis, an immigrant, was an ordained minister and resided in East Lampeter, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Along with Martin Bare, Benjamin helped establish the Mellinger's church.
Benjamin Landis was ordained a minister, Mellinger Congregation, by 1746. He signed the 1755 Mennonite Petition to the Pennsylvania Assembly.

Benjamin Landis was born in 1694, according to the Portrait and Biographical Record of Lancaster County, and in 1704, according to Darvin Martin.Dennis Oberholtzer gave Benjamin's place of birth as the Palatinate, Germnay, but Jay Weaver listed Benjamin Landis, Jr.s' place of birth as Switzerland, and "Find A Grave" gave Zurich, Switzerland.
