Individual Details

Jacob Flora Senior

(1725/1727 - 1795/96)

One source (unclear, but probably Genealogy of the Descendants of Jacob Flora and Martha Bowman) listed his age as 6 on the voyage to America, landing on August 23, 1733. This would place his birth in 1727.

Jacob Flora, Sr. moved from Rapho Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Frederick County, Maryland, and then to Franklin County, Virginia. He was baptized in the Conestoga Brethren congregation in Lancaster. In 1782 he bought a farm on Magodee Creek near Boones Mill, Virginia.

There are conflicting reports on who his wife was. A Mr. Blocker, over the internet, and James Denlinger listed his wife as Catherine Conrad.
