Individual Details
David Martin Senior
(Abt 1704 - 10 Nov 1784)
David Martin, along with his brother Jacob, came to America prior to his parents. David and Jacob landed in Philadelphia on 30 September 1727 aboard the Molly.
On 26 February 1738 he obtained a patent for 370 acres in Weaverland's Blue Ball Run, present-day East Earl Township.
Andreas Martin was long thought to be David Martin's father, and patriatch of the Martin family in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, but Darvin Martin (pages 2-3) agreed with Jason Martin's contention that this is unproven. Both Jason and Darvin Martin believe it more likely that Christian Martin was David Martin's father.

Notes
Birth
David Martin, Sr. was bornin 1691, according to Dennis Oberholtzer.Marriage
Anna Groff and David Martin wed before 11 November 1758, according to Theodore Herr, however this is after all three of their children were born. As his previous wife, Barbara Herr, died in 1742, and as his and Anna's first child was born in 1746, I believe Anna and David wed sometime between 1743 and 1745.Death
David Martin, Sr. died in then-Earl and now-East Earl Township.Burial
David Martin, Sr.'s burial location was also given as Weberthal Cemetery, Weaverland, Pennsylvania.Endnotes
