David Funk

David Funk served in the Civil War as a corporal in Company I, 5th Regiment, P.R.V.C. Infantry. He saw battle at Mechanicsville, Gaines Mill, Second Bull Run, South Mountain, Antietam and Fredericksburg. At Fredericksburg David Funk was wounded and lost his left eye. He lay wounded on the battlefield for six days before being taken to Washington Hospital at Mount Pleasant. He was discharged from the military on 28 February 1863. In 1894 he was a Justice of the Peace at Warriors Mark, Pennsylvania.
