Martin W. Funk
(1837 - 1865)
Martin Funk served in the Civil War as a sergeant in Company I, 5th Regiment, P.R.V.C., seeing battle at Mechanicsville, Gaines Mill, White Oak Swamp, Malvern Hill, Second Bull Run and Briston Station, Virginia; Antietam, Maryland; and Fredericksburg and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He was captured and imprisoned at Libby Prison and, later, Camp Florence, South Carolina, where he died.
