Individual Details
Christian Eby Senior
(12 Feb 1704 - 15 Sep 1756)
Christian Eby, Senior, arrived in America on 18 May 1734, according to one source that I cannot recall. "Find A Grave" gave 1718 as his arrival in Chester County, Pennsylvania. In 1746 November 12, he patented 236 acres on Hammer Creek three miles north of Lititz and six miles northwest of the mill his brother, George Eby, built, also on Hammer Creek. Here, Christian built a barn, home and flour mill sometime in the 1750s before his death in 1756. The Eby home is at the intersection of Reifsnyder and Snavely Roads in Elizabeth Township. For an interesting article on the ownership of the mill after Christian, see the October 2017 article by Carl Garber and Allan Garber.

Notes
Birth
"Find A Grave" gave Bern, Switzerland as Christian's birth place, however, Richard Eby on page 9, argued that is was more likely Alsace or Palantinate, Germany.Endnotes
