Daniel Newcomer Senior

(24 May 1801 - 24 Sep 1875)

Married in 1822, Daniel Newcomer and Barbara Stoner, his wife, moved a few years later to Franklin County, Pennsylvania. There he farmed until March 1865, when he took his family to Eagle Point, Ogle, Illinois. He was a deacon and his family were members of the River Brethren Church. Politically, Daniel was anti-slavery and a member of the Whig Party, and then the Republican Party, according to Vickie Sylvara on "Find A Grave."
