Peggy Ann Ferguson

(9 Feb 1933 - )

Peggy was born and raised at Howard, Montana and went to a two room country
school through the seventh grade. Her folks farmed for many years but in 1946
they moved to Rosebud, Montana and her dad opened a machine shop. In 1951 she
graduated from Rosebud High Schol. During high school she worked for Wallin
Merc. store in Rosebud and continued to do so until July, 1952, when she
married Elmer Hawkinson. Elmer was in the service at the time, so when he
wasn't at sea we spent our time in California. When he was out at sea, she
came home and worked. In 1963 she went to work for the Rosebud School as Clerk
and secretary and worked there until 1975, at which time they purchased the
Blue Spruce Cafe. She owned and helped operate the cafe until 1995, when we
sold it. Her hobbies and interests are her grandchildren, crocheting, sewing,
camping and fishing.
