Marriage
Anamosa Journal (Anamosa, Iowa) Thursday, August, 1930, page 1LUBBEN--EIBEN
The marriage of Sophia Lubben, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lubben of Cass township, to Ben Eiben, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Eiben of Castle Grove township, occurred Tuesday morning, August 19, at Zion's Lutheran Church in Wayne township. The wedding ceremony was performed at 11 o'clock by Rev. J. Willms, in presence of seventy-five invited guests. The bride and bridegroom were attended by Miss Anna Lubben, a sister of the bride, as bridesmaid, and by Herman Zimmerman as best man.
The bride was daintily attired in a gown of white chiffon, and wore a whtie tulle veil. She carried a shower bouquet of pink bridal roses. Her bridesmaid was dressed in peach colored chiffon, and also caried roses. As the young people approached the front of the church, the wedding march was played by Lorene Zimmerman. Following the marriage ceremony, a fine dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents in honor of the bride and bridegroom. The Lubben home was beautifully decorated in a color scheme of peach and white. After a two weeks honeymoon trip to Nebraska, the young people will make their home on the Bates farm in Scotch Grove township.
Mrs. Eiben is a graduate of the Annamosa high school, and during the past two years has taught in the rural schools of the county. Mr. Eiben is a successful farmer.
