Sunday, Sept 4; Ruth Ann Eiben will become the bride of Garth Lynn Grafft, at a ceremony performed at 7:15 p.m. at the SS. Peter and Paul, Lutheran church in rural Monticello. Miss Eiben is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Eiben of Monticello, Mr. Grafft is the son of Mrs. M. C. Grafft of Anamosa. The bride elect is employed at the Monticello State Bank, the groom to be is in the Armed Forces.

Ruth A. Grafft, age 76 of Marengo, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at the Marengo Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo, with Rev. Andrew Gray officiating. Burial was in the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo. Visitation was held from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo. Arrangements with Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 55 years, Garth; three sons, Kevin (Julie) of Chanhassen, Minn., Gary (Janet) of Marengo, and Brian (Amanda) of Tiffin; nine grandchildren, Ivan and Ben Grafft, Noah and Lily Grafft, Kayla Fiser (Jon), Greg and Kaitlyn Ash, and Peyton and Brady Grafft; two great-grandchildren, Kinley and Harper Fiser; and a brother Galen Eiben (Jayne) of Shell Rock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Ray Eiben.
Ruth Ann Eiben was born April 13, 1939 in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Ben Eiben and Sophia Lubben Eiben. She graduated from Monticello High School with the Class of 1956, and attended the Cedar Rapids Business College. Ruth and Garth Grafft were united in marriage on September 4, 1960 at St. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, rural Monticello. Ruth worked at the Monticello State Bank, and then in the office of Cherry-Burrell and also LeFebure in Cedar Rapids. The couple relocated to Marengo in 1963, where she was co-owner and operator of Big G Grocery Store. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marengo.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished the time spent with family, and attending the grandchildren’s activities. She loved her cats and dogs, and looked forward to “coffee time” with her friends.
