Funeral services for Arthur Eiben 79, were held Friday, June 11, 1999 at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Goettsch Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Arthur Eiben died Tuesday, June 8, 1999 at the Monticello Care and Rehabiliation Center, following an extended illness.
He was born March 7, 1920 in Lovell Township, Jones County, Iowa, the son of J. H. and Ellen Warner Eiben. He received his education in the rural schools near his home. He farmed and was employed at the Weber Stone Company, Stone City for 12 years. He also was a fence builder in the area.
Survivors include two brothers: Harold (Clara) Eiben of Monticello, Clarence (Laura) Eiben of Hopkinton; two sisters: Betty (George) Redmond of Monticello, Marian (James) Blunt of Scotch Grove; a sister-in-law, Vera Eiben of Wheatland; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers.
