WILL OF EDWARD EILERSI, Edward Eilers, of Monticello, Jones County, Iowa, being sound of mind and memory, do make, declare and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking any and all wills by me at any time heretofore made.
Item I. It is my will that my just debts and the expenses of my last illness and funeral be first paid from my estate.
Item II I will and bequeath unto my wife, Anna K. Eilers, one third of all of the property, both real and personal of which I may dies seized, or to which I may be entitled.
Item III. I will and bequeath unto my daughter-in-law, Florence Eilers, the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500); and I will and bequeath unto my daughter-in-law, Mary Eilers, the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500); and I will and bequeath unto my daughter-in-law, Frances Eilers, the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500).
Item IV. All of the rest, residue and remainder of the property of which I may die seized, or to which I may be entitled, I will and bequeath unto my three sons, Frank Eilers, Merle Eilers and Glenn Eilers, they to share and share alike.
Item V. I nominate L. W. Lovell of Monticello, Iowa, to be the executor of this my last will and testament, and request that he be relieved of the necessity of giving bonds.

Death

He Bought Cattle Here For Thirty-Five Years
Funeral services were held for Edward Eilers, 70, at the Goettsch funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. William J. Grossheim, Presbyterian pastor. During the services, Mrs. Frank Walker and Mrs. Willard Yeoman sang two hymns. Interment was made at Oakwood cemetery.
Eilers died at 8 o'clock Thursday morning, October 29, after a six year illness. He was a son of Renk and Maria Harms Eilers. He was born March 2, 1872, near Monticello, and had lived in this vicinity all of his life, with the exception of a few years when he operated a farm near Independence.
In addition to farming near Monticello, Eilers also was a cattle buyer. He was in partnership with R. A. Cartano doing business under the firm name of Cartano and Eilers for many years. Eilers bought and sold cattle for 35 years in this vicinity.
He was married Jan. 11, 1893, to Anna K. Peters who survives him, together with three sons, Frank of Monticello, Merle of Anamosa, and Glenn of Hopkinton. He is also survived by three brothers, Barney, Alva and Ben, all of whom reside in and near Monticello.
