"Justice of quorum. Magistrate. Commissioner of free schools. SC House of Representatives, St. Andrews, 1828-1832. SC Senate, St. Andrews, 1832-1840. Member of Episcopal Church; vestryman, St. James' Church, James Island. Died between January 11, 1861 (will signed), and April 1, 1861 (will proved); buried St. James' Churchyard, James Island."
