Inice was a school teacher in Jackson Valley.
"I had always wondered how Inice Ells and Bobby L met since she was in Covelo and he in Branscomb, then I saw a little note in a paper saying that Miss Inice Ells was going to her first teaching assignment in Branscomb and would board with the Lovejoys. At the end of the year, there was one saying they'd gotten married. I don't know if you ever met him, I guess probably not, but he was a really nice man, I know Grandma adored him."

Her death is mourned by a host of friends. No better thing could be said of the deceased than that she was a loving mother, a dutiful daughter, a devoted wife and friend to all.
She is survived by her little daughter, Imogene, two years old, her husband, Robert Lovejoy, by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Ells, a brother, Russell Ells, and sister, Mrs. Walter of Covelo.
Burial was made in the Round Valley cemetery Sunday afternoon, Rev. Moore officiation.
These words are the requiem of Robert Louis Stevenson, lifelong sufferer from tuberculosis:
"Under the wde and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie,
Gladly I lived and gladly I die,
And I lay me down with a will.
This be the verse you grave for me,
'Here he lies where he longed to be.
Home is the sailor, home from the sea,
The hunter's home from the hill.'
