William Lovejoy

(1530 - Abt 1577)

"Even assuming William's marriage to Joanna took place in 1569, it will be noticed that the first two of the following children were born even before that date. This may indicate a previous marriage by William or perhaps there were two William Lovejoys who were cousins.
There are a number of records about William Lovejoy. In 1574, he had letters of administration on the estate of his father. On May 6, 1575, there is a final concord between William Lovejoy and William Samwell, complainants, and George Temple, deforciant, of the manor of Stowe, County of Bucks, and six messuages, one water mill, thirty acres of land, six of meadow, sixty of pasture, five of wood, 8s rent."
In 1591 after Williams death, his son Thomas, complained that his father is seized for his life of the capital messuage of Marlow, with divers houses and land in the county of Bucks, with the remainders to John Lovejoy, the complainant's brother" "
