Margaret McCulloch: Margaret, the daughter of Symon McCulloch, received in 1541 a
charter for two acres of temple land within the barony of Myretoun because the original
title had been lost. Perhaps, the remainder of the title was renewed as Iredell suggests in
1525 by King James V. In 1546, Margaret resigned Myretoun in favor of her son, Symon
McCulloch, reserving her liferent (life estate) (Registrum Magni Sigilli Regum Scotorum
(RMSRS), Register of the Great Seal of Scotland, 1513-1546, 3268). Her husband Henry
McCulloch of Killasser was dead by 1545.
