Symon McCulloch

Symon McCulloch (the second) of Myrton: Symon, the son of Margaret McCulloch of
Myrton and Henry McCulloch of Killasser, in 1581, resigned the whole barony of
Myretoun into the hands of the Crown (Calendar of Myretoun Writs 31) for a new charter
in favor of his son, William, reserving his own liferent, and the lands of Lambr(?) And
half of the lands of Mains of Myretoun for his wife (RMSRS 1580 -1593, 320; Calendar
of Myretoun Writs 32/33; and the Laing Charters, 1036). Symon died, probably between
3 May 1583 and 8 Mar 1584/85. He married Marian Gordon, daughter of William
Gordon, first of Craichlaw and Janet Baillie, his wife (McMath’s Gordons of Craichlaw,
p 5). Their eldest son was William McCulloch of Myretoun. (Epperson)
