Notes
Death
Bobby Neal Furr, 87, of Indian Land, SC, entered into Glory on August 21, 2025. His devoted wife, three loving daughters, and dear friends were by his side as he entered Heaven. Son of Luther C. and Leona E. Honeycutt Furr, Bobby, the youngest of three was born on April 14, 1938. Growing up on a dairy farm, he continued to work at a dairy with his father once he was graduated from East Mecklenburg High School. Bobby was drafted into the Army in 1961, serving in South Korea at the DMZ as a Private First Class. He was a sharpshooter in the Military Police. Bobby retired in 1999 from Celanese Fiber Industries. Pineville Church of the Nazarene is where Bobby called home for 85 years. He loved and served God and his church as Sunday School Superintendent, a board member, a youth leader, on the visitation team, on the building committee, in men’s ministries, as an usher, and even as the church janitor. Bobby served wherever he was needed. His servant’s heart led him to join numerous work and witness mission projects around the world. Bobby’s pride and joy was his family. He cherished his wife, Kathy Fisher Furr, whom he married in the spring of 1963. Together they built a home for their three little girls. Bobby was a jack of all trades and could usually be found in his shop, garden, or yard. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, three daughters; Teresa (Mike) and Angele of Indian Land; Barbara of Conway; and three beloved grandsons: Michael and WiI (Rebecca) Watkins, and Luther Melton. There will be a receiving of family and friends on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Pineville Church of the Nazarene and a service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on August 25th, 2025. Pineville Church of the Nazarene is located at 8614 Pineville-Matthews Road in South Charlotte. Interment with military honors will be held at Pineville City Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Hendersonville Nazarene Camp, 33 Nazarene Drive, Flat Rock, NC 28731.Endnotes
