Joseph Miller

Dorothy Swearingim shows Joseph died in 1880, but I could not find him on the 1870 census so I am assuming he died before then.
Dorothy Swearingim and Pauline Bonney also had Robert as his father and thought that Col. John Miller (Revolutionary war soldier and founder of Richmond, Kentucky) was his grandfather. However, Joseph was born in South Carolina, and according to information I found on the internet the Robert Miller who was the son of Col. John Miller was born and died in Kentucky (not South Carolina). I found this quote about him, "Robert Miller came to Madison Co., KY, in 1784 [five years before Joseph Miller was born in South Carolina], and first settled at Milford. He served in the State Senate from Madison County in 1829, 1834-8. He moved to the new town of Richmond, where he was proprietor of a tavern. He died on his farm about one mile east of Richmond."
Also, Dorothy gave a dob for Robert as 1767, but according to internet sources the son of Col. John Miller was born 1775. That's a big difference, although I don't know where the 1767 date came from. Finally, according to other information on the internet he was married in 1798, and there's no Joseph listed among his children.
I also found a Rev. Robert Miller b. August 19, 1767 in the Prince George County, but it seems he lived in Ohio, was married there, and had all his children there, so I think I can rule out that Robert as Joseph's father as well.
Regarding his having two marriages, I got that from some typed information found among the genealogy notes of Pauline Bonney. I think she got this from somebody else as all her work was handwritten, not typed. I think the two marriage theory makes sense since there is such an age difference (about six years) between Zachariah and the next youngest child.
