Individual Details
David H. Hartman
(12 Jan 1841 - 13 Mar 1914)
According to James E. Bell's book, David was born "January 12, 1841, in Ohio, the son of John Dixon Hartman and Margaret Parker" and died March 13, 1914. His first wife, Ethlinda, was "born September 26, 1845, in Arkansas, the daughter of George and Mary Black." He re-married on "August 25, 1896, in Iron County" to Sarah Goggin. Bell's book says he was a farmer in Black River Township (Reynolds County) but then says that he showed up in Iron County on the 1900 census. According to one source used by Bell (a book on the Carty family), the Hartmans were from Pennsylvania.
