Passed Away July 7th After Three Weeks Illness
Funeral services for the late Thomas Skluzacek were held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Lonsdale on Tuesday morning, July 10th at 9:30. Rev. Robert Bastyr officiated at the services. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Emil Machacek, Myles Machacek, Edward Skluzacek, Frank Machacek, and Sgt. Ed. Skluzacek.
Born in Czechoslovakia in [1854], he came at the age of 4 years with his parents to America. They settled in New Prague where he engages in blacksmithing. Later he purchased a farm near New Prague but retire about 20 years ago when he moved to Lonsdale where he has resided until the time of his death.
In January 1877, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Vobejda at New Prague.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters and four sons, namely , Mrs. Mary Machacek, Thos. J. Skluzacek, John M. Skluzacek, Jos. A. Skluzacek, Christine Skluzacek, Frank J. Skluzacek, all of Lonsdale, and Sister M. Nepomuca of Milwaukee. The deceased has 28 grandchildren and 29 great-grand children. One daughter and a son preceded him in death namely, Mrs. Catherine Hruza, who died in 1925 and Matt Skluzacek who passed away in [1940].
Many relatives and friends from the surrounding communities of Le Center, New Prague, Veseli, Montgomery and Austin, where the deceased had many acquaintances attended the wake and funeral.
