Joshua (6), s. of Joshua (5), b. Aug. 18, 1734, m. 1st, Abigail (6), dau of Samuel (5) Eddy of Oxford, afterwards set off to Ward, and sis. of Samuel (6), who ,. his sis. Susannah (6) Meriam. He m. 2nf, Mrs. Hannah Lovell, and 3d, Ann Stockwell. Of his four ch. Jonathan (7) is said to have m. a "Dutch girl" and moved to N.Y. State, and I have no further trace of him. Abigail (7) m. 1st William Forbes of Oxford; 2d John Plimmer of Thompson, Conn.; and 3d, Josiah Prentice, Esq; of Oxford, and d. without issue. Lydia (7), m. Jonathan (3), s. of John (2) Nichols of Charlton, and father of the late Capt Thomas(4) Nichols of Oxford, whose dau. Thirsa S(5), is one of our school teachers. John (7) m. Hannah (3) Nichols, sis. of Jonathan (3), and settled in Oxford, but d. in Charlton Oct 6, 1840, aged 71. When a boy he lived with his grandparents, and his grandfather, Joshua (5) Meriam, left him by will 69 pounds. "equal in value to so much silver as it stood in the year 1770," to be paid to him on hos arrival at the age of 21 years, and which was paid by the executor, James (6) Meriam, Dec. 10, 1789, for which he gave receipt, witnessed by Marcy (7) Meriam and James (7) Meriam, Jr.
