After graduating from Big Lake High School, Helen attended St. Cloud State Teacher's College where she earned a two year teaching degree. She taught in an elementary school in Nevis, MN., for two or three years. After her marriage to Stan Harmon, they lived in Big Lake and later in Minneapolis. Helen is buried next to her husband, Stan and daughter Pat in the Big Lake cemetery. Their graves are unmarked.
