Retired Head of Firm an Early Official of U S Golf Body
Bronxville, NY, May 28 - Robert Bage Kerr of the Hotel New Weston, NY, retired stockbroker and veteran golfer, died here yesterday in the home of his daughter, Miss Katherine Kerr, at 3 Normandy Road. His age was 80.
Born in NY, a son of Thomas Barber Kerr and the former Serena Bage, Mr Kerr was graduated from Yale in 1885. He subsequently formed thr stock brokerage firm of Kerr & Co., of which he became senior partner. After retiring from this concern many years ago, he joined Harris Upham & Co, brokers.
When golf was still a novelty Mr Kerr jad played with John Reid, one of the pioneer golf authorities in this country, at the St Andrews Golf Club, of which they were members. He also was a former member of the Racquet and Tennis, the Yale and the University Clubs. He helped form the United States Golf Association, of which he at one time served as secretary,
Surviving, besides his daughter, asr two sons, Robert B, Jr of Yonkers and E. A. N. Kerr of Bronxville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM in St Thomas Episcopal Church, New York, on Tuesday at 11 AM.

Robert B Kerr
Bronxville, NY May 28 -- Robert B Kerr, 80, retired stockbroker and pioneer golfer, died last night at the home of his daughter Miss Katherine Kerr. Kerr helped organize the US Association which he served at one time as secretary. His golf partners included the late Andrew Carnegie.
