Glady was well known in the Big Lake community. She had been the owner of "Putt's Cafe" and the Big Lake Hardware Store, along with her husband, Lester. She was always known as a wonderful cook and a generous and kind hearted person.
Her funeral was held at the Saron Lutheran Church in Big Lake on Jan. 10, 1990 and she was buried next to her husband in the Big Lake Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one daughter, Mertis Guppy. She was survived by son Gene of Monticello; Jerry Lee of Big Lake and daughters Donna Frederickson of Anoka and Beverly Kasper and Nancy Kay Swanson both of Big Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday fro Gladys Putnam, 87, of Big Lake.
Mrs. Putnam died Tuesday, Jan 9, 1990, at the Wright County Retirement Center in Buffalo.
Services will be at Saron Lutheran Church in Big Lake with Rev R W Oltmanns officiating.
Visitation was to be held fro 4 to 8 pm Wednesday, Jan 10, at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel of Monticello and two hours prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will take place at Big Lake Cemetery. Mrs. Putnam was well-known in the Big Lake burliness community. She was owner of Putt's Cafe and the Big Lake Hardware Store.
She is survived by sons Ellsworth (Gene) Putnam of Monticello; Jerry Lee Putnam of Big Lake; daughters Donna Frederickson of Anoka; Beverly Kasper and Nancy Kay Swanson, both of Big Lake; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Putnam was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter, Mertis Guppy
