Hazel McElmury
Hazel McElmury, 90, of Houston, Minnesota died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Valley View Healthcare & Rehab in Houston.

Hazel Ask was born in rural Ridgeway, Minnesota on June 6, 1921, to Haakon and Karen (Hansen) Ask. She attended public schools in rural Winona County and in Houston. Hazel was confirmed at the Lutheran Stone Church in Houston, and was a longtime member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Farmington, Minnesota.

Hazel married Harry McElmury of Money Creek, Minnesota on November 10, 1939 in Decorah, Iowa. They raised their family in Farmington, and returned to Houston in 2003.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry in 2006, daughter Kay, two grandchildren, one brother, and four sisters.

Hazel is survived by sons: Jeffrey ( Mattie )of Saint Louis Park, James of LaCrosse, Jon of Wanamingo, and Patrick (Betty) of Cannon Falls, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, three brothers, and four sisters.

A memorial service will be held at the Money Creek United Methodist Church on September 10, 2011 at 1:30 p.m., with Dr. Robert Culver officiating. Burial will follow at the Money Creek Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the church.
