Hannah E. Leonard was born at Windsor, Maine, February 19, 1843, and closed her earthly life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lee A. Jones in Havre, Montana June 10, 1922, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 21 days. She came to Minnesota with her parents in 1855 and settled on a farm in Wright County several miles south-west of Monticello on the Buffalo road. She [w]as a member of the Eastern Star of Monticello and the Monticello M. E. In accordance with her wish, her funeral service was held in the church that she loved and of which she had been a devoted member for many years[.] The pastor of the Church not being able to be present, the sermon was conducted by Rev. B. F. Buck of the Monticello Congregational church and the burial service was conducted by the Monticello Chapter of the Eastern Star in Riverside cemetery at the grave where she rests beside her husband and son.
Besides her daught[er], Mrs. Jones, she leaves a brother, John Hatch, of Little Falls, and the following near relatives of Buffalo, Mrs. George Covart, Mr. Smith Covart and wife, and Walter Leonard and wife all of whom were present at her funeral held at the M. E. church Tuesday afternoon, June 13.
