Notes
Divorce
According to Belle V Morrison, granddaughter of Mary Ellen (Drew) Putnam, who was a sister of Nancy from info at Wright County Historical Society:Peter Putnam Parents and siblings, and Descendants by Naomi Koepsell-Jurgens of Maple Lake, Apr 2001:
Belle says that Nancy and Clarence Haight wee divorced, she couldn't remember the year. She said that what happened was that Clarence one day had a gun and told the whole family he was going to kill them, somehow Althea got the gun away, and got Clarence out of the house. At this point Nancy took at least 2 of her kids, Althea and Clara, and moved out west by her sister Mary Ellen. Belle said that she knows of a cousin that remembered Clarence came out to Oregon at one time in the 1920's to see the youngest child, Althea. They weren't sure, but believed that Clarence probably stayed in the west and died out there somewhere, but no idea where.
