I have assumed that this John is the Charles John here by vrtue of the 1881 census describing Charles John as a shoe repairer. (and 1891 as a shoemaker)
Looking at his marriage certificate for 1883 - Ipswich 4a 1413- would confirm the position
I have listed him having 7 children but at the time of writing I strongly suspect that the Ernest Laffling, born Somersham, shown in the WW1 deaths belongs here. I have no evidence to make the entry especially when he is not in the 1901 census
