Individual Details

Emily LAFFLING

(1851 - 5 April 1854)

Emily is shown in the 1861 census as age 11 = bn 1850.
Ten years later in the 1871 census Emily is shown as age 7 = bn 1864.
There is an Emily died 1854 2/4 Bosmere 4a 335 age 3 who Moly Johansen says is the daughter of Aaron & Emily.
So how can Emily be shown in the 1861 census when her birth year fits the Emily dying in 1854.
The death of the first Emily can be supported by the 2nd Emily shown in the 1871 census as dau. of Aaron & Emily age 7 = bn 1864. Trying to resolve this problem by looking forward has not produced a solution.
The 1871 census shows an" E" Laflin, servant at Wetherdenn, born Nettlestead 1854, who can not be accounted for, but with only the initial this is not overly helpful. Most likely to be Eliza, dau of Elijah & Eliza, 1/4 1854 Bosmere 4a 495
The civil registration of marriages has, 1/4 1860 Bosmere 4a 684, the marriage of an Emily, but the fee BMD site has the only other entry for this page as a Rebecca Lewis( Subsequent - This Emily aka Amelia, 833/1, married John Stoggle)
. The 1881 census does not help and with females marrying and changing name, marriage may well explain the"Loss" of a person.
