After her husband's death, she and her family returned to Engalnd. She made a petition to Oliver Cromwell, Lord Protector, on 8-7-1657 for Richard Lane's unpaid services of 702 pounds. She was granted 10 shillings a week which would be about $1 today.Will
Alice Carter Lane's will was drawn on 8-22-1678 and proved on 10-22-1678. She left her grandson, Thomas Denne, 50 pounds; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Alice Denne, 50 pounds each; son-in-law, William Denne and his second wife also named Mary( first wife was Mary Lane), 25 pounds for mourning if they come to her funeral.Death
