In Inventory and Petition proceedings, John A. Duncan, son of Anderson A. Duncan, is the administrator of his estate. He states that Anderson Duncan was intestate, had left property valued at about $1650, and the heirs are John A. Duncan, Lydia W. Duncan Douglas, Frances E.A. Duncan, Martha E. Duncan Johnson, Julius B. Duncan, Charles B. Duncan, James M. Duncan, William W. Duncan, and the 6 children of Jane Elizabeth Duncan Smith Page deceased. Depositions from William Martin (Maslin?) and B.R. Ingram on 11-17-1866 indicate that they knew the family members and that in their opinion the property could not be divided among the heirs and should be sold. At this time the land was sold to J. B. Duncan. This proceeding is recorded in the Lowndes Co., AL Probate Records, Index Book A, 1832-1878, Book 13.Endnotes
