From Archives KY--Newspaper Clipping "George Plummer, an early settler (p-11) who smelted his lead ore on the Black Star Branch. He was father of REASON PLUMMER known as "Uncle Bob", Plummer's Landing on Fox Creek, got it's name from the water from the caines & every water craft landing at that point. George Plummer was father of miller Ben Plummer.
THE REASON PLUMMER JR WAS NOT THE SON OF REASON. The Reason who married Cynthia Knapp did not have a son named Reason. Charolette Garl, Elkhart, IN, ltr 6-29-97.
Excerpts from p70-71, Winklelman & Honeyman book: James inherited 100 acres of RESURVEY ON PLUMMER'S DELIGHT from his father's estate 7 Jan 1782. James described as a MILLER.---From his brher Joseph he purchased 13 acres for 32.10lbs pence & to the same brother sold 58 acres for 146lbs. In 1795 he finished selling his Frederick County land holdings. He obtained permission from the county official in Aug 1796 to erect a gristmill along Fox creek. He bouth several tracts, the fist on 10 Oct 1798 being 93 acres of John Mosby's 30,000 acre survey from Lewis Creaig, adjoing lands of BEnjamin Plummer & Samuel Plummer for 36lbs & 10 shillings.
