Joseph Hitt

John, Joseph, and Harmon served in the same company in the French & Indian Wars. Joseph's oldest son John and John's son, John Jr. also served. Joseph served in the Fauquier Co Militia in 1761 in Capt. William Edmond's Company. By 1783, Joseph was no longer being taxed on land in Fauquier Co; he is on the Culpeper Co rolls from 1782-1786. The family moved to South Carolina sometime after 1786; he is on the 1790 Census in Laurens Co SC.
