30 Apr 1840 March Term of County Court appointed commissioners to lay off and allot to Susannah Mims, widow of Martin Mims, dec'd - corn, flour, bacon, sugar, coffee, $5 for contingencies, one cow and calf.
Inventory of Martin Mims, deceased returned to June Term.
June Term, 1840. John Cobb, adminisstrator of the estate of Martin Mims, requests to make sale of small Negro girl named Betty about 5 years only, the only negro in his estate. He left a widow and six children, the widow has since died and to make distribution, he needs to sell the said Negro. Court so ordered.
Sold at Yanceyville, 5 November, on order of October Court 1850 - woman Eliza and her two children belonging to the heirs of Martin Mims. John B. Blackwell was purchaser, $1101.00. Heirs of full age were John W. Mimms, Henry R. Mimms, and Mary J. Mimms; Sarah F. Mimms, Thomas W. Mimms & G. W. Mimms were infants under the age of 21, represented by guardian Richard Jones.

Undated Court Order: "that Richard Jones be allowed until April to make his Guardian return as guardian for the heirs of Martin Mims.

1843 Guardian Accounts, p.228 Richard Jones rec'd of John Cobb, adm. for the heirs of M. Mims.

July Court 1851. Ordered that Richard Jones, admr. be allowed $45 for selling the slaves belonging to theheirs of Martin Mims, dec'd.
