John Smith Haden
(2 Aug 1817 - 6 May 1869)
11 Oct 1847. Joel H. Haden for love of son John S., conveyed to his brother James H. Haden, in trust, a woman named Dorkas and her increase. Any proceeds from her use were to be John's and James could not sell her or her increased during John's lifetime. At John's death, the slave and her increase would go to his offspring if had any, otherwise Dorkas would revert back to Joel's estate.
1860 Census, Howard Co MO, Chariton Twp, Hh 726, next to his youngest brother and father:
John S. Haden, age 43, Farmer, b. KY. Mary A., age 37, b. MO
Claborn F. age 3, b. MO.
Emily A. Taylor, age 11, b. MO.
This might be John S. Haden's wife - daughter of Thomas Peery. Perhaps she was the widow Taylor when they married since the child Emily Taylor was with them in 1860.
