I was told the wife of Robert Holderness Brooks was Sintha, or Sinthy but I read the 1850 Census as Leatha and that is how her name continues in the census records.

In the estate file of his mother is the following Power of Attorney. Robt. H. Brookes of Haywood Co TN, appoints Alexander G. Brooks of Wayne Co, NC, my attorney to execute the following business. Robt H. Brooks was the son and one of the heirs of the estate of his father Christopher W. Brooks and his mother Isabella Brooks, late of the state of NC. There is in the hands of Jas. Montgomery Clerk & Master, money belonging to the estate received from the sale of the property and ready to be distributed. Robt H. Brooks is entitled to one-seventh part. Alexander G.
