Iverson married Bettie A. Lee about 1855, perhaps in TN. She was born ca 1838, TN, and died 22 Jul 1907 in Drew Co AR.

[By 1870, William has become Percy L. - either the parents changed the names of these children, or someone gave erroneous information]

Compiled Service record of Iverson Lea Brooks, Colonel of the 26th Arkansas Infantry Regiment. Enlisted as 3rd Sgt, Company A, 3 May 1862, at Monticello, Drew Co, AR, 50 miles from home. Promoted to Capt of Company G, 18 Jul 1862. Granted leave 23 Mar 1863. Age 37 in 1863 [he was 34] Elected Lt. Col. 6 Dec 1863. Promoted to Colonel 26 May 1864.

Name written as "Isaac" Brooks but it must be Iverson. He was age 42, an Attorney, b. NC. Betty age 32, b. TN, keeping house. Luella age 12, b. TN. Percy age 10, b. TN, Iva L. age 7, b. AR, and Lizzie K. age 4 also b. AR. James Tilar, age 30, a shoemaker b. in MD was living with the family.

Family records state Iverson died 15 Feb 1877, but that may be a probate date from his estate settlement.
