Jesse bought his mother-in-law's slaves at her estate sale for a total of £400. Not named. It also appears he bought her Bible.

Both Jesse and Mary were living with son Archibald. The enumeration date was 2 Nov 1850 - Jesse quite likely deceased but the enumerator would have had instructions to count him since he was living earlier in the year.
