Sarah married (1) Jesse Chinn. but she had other marriages:
She married (2) to Davis Durrett sometime around 1830-1832 (he has an estate file, 1832, Surry NC), and before Dec of 1838 she was married (3) to John Morris. She is named as Sarah Morris in her father's will, 1850. She married (4) Addison C Philpott, 15 Jun 1851, Lafayette, MO.

Dec 15, 1838, assignment Lafayette County MO. John Morris of Lafayette County MO to Robert T. Ridings all my right, title, and interest ...and all the money due or to become due arising from the sale of the real estate of Daniel [actually Davis] Durrett deceased in North Carolina coming to and in right of my wife Sarah Morris late Sarah Durrett relict of said Durrett...also the debts dues and demands coming to me or owing me in my own right or right of my wife by or from William Doss Senior, Richard C. Puryear, and Henry P. Poindexter. Signed Jno. Morris. Witnesses Dempsey Joyner, Robert Davis. Acknowledged by John Morris, Jan 5, 1839. Deed Book F page 243.

Davis Durrett appears to have been Sarah Ridings' 2nd husband. Jesse Chinn died about the same time Davis Durrett’s first wife died, and it looks like Sarah and Davis married shortly thereafter. Indeed, the estate records of Davis Durrett indicate that his widow was Sarah, that she had been “Miss Ridings”, and an 1868 letter in the file referred to her as Mrs. Philpott formerly Mrs. Durrett. It seems that after Sarah’s 3rd husband John Morris died, Sarah married a 4th time, to Addison C. Philpott, and there’s a marriage record for this. I should also add that Davis Durrett and Jesse Chinn had adjoining property in Surry County, and that Davis Durrett witnessed the will of Jesse Chinn.

That Sarah Ridings was the daughter of Jesse Ridings is pretty much confirmed by this deed:

Aug 13, 1822, deed of gift, Surry County NC, Jesse Ridings to Jesse Chinn both of Surry County. Jesse Ridings in consideration of the natural love and affection for the said Jesse Chinn. 90 acres in Surry County on Logan's Creek adjoining GD Holcombs and Davis Durrett, William Pettit. Signed Jesse Ridings. Witnesses Davis Durrett, Thomas Brown. Proved Feb 1830 by Davis Durrett. T-421. Familysearch image 506 of 716. Looks like Jesse Ridings was fond of his son-in-law!

Anyway, Sarah appears to have been born in 1805, which is the date on her tombstone and the 1850 census. Other census records show her birth a bit later but before 1810. There were two younger than 10 females in Jesse Ridings’ 1810 household, and I think they were Sarah and Berrilla, who appears to have been born about 1809. All references I found to Berrilla’s birth were before 1810. Then Sarah gets married in 1819, and in 1820 Jesse Ridings has only 2 females, one over 45 and one 10-16, which I would think was Berrilla, who married Robert Davis in 1826.
