Mae L. Casteel, 83, formerly of 331 6th ave., Apr 204, Crestline, died Tuesday in Clairborne County Hospital, Tazewell, Enn.
She was the daughter of Thomas and Maude (Howard) Depew. She was preceded in death, Sept 15, 1982, by her husband John D. Casteel, who she married Sept 15, 1928. A daughter, two brothers, a great grandson, and a great-great-grandson also preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Oscar, Tazewell; a daughter Mrs. Ada Blummenshein, Galion; two brothers, Thomas Depew Jr., Camden; and Henry Depew, Cincinnati; four sisters, Mrs. Ed (Mossie) Woods, Griffin, GA; Mrs. Woodrow (Sarah) Chumley, Cumberland Gap, TN; Mrs. Bessie Callett, Florence, KY; and Mrs. Henley (Dorothy) Chumley also of Cumberland Gap; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Casteel had lived in the area since 1970 and attended the Church of God of Galion. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 pm at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 this evening and one hour prior to the service.
